New lightweight retrieves from Wooddog. We are pleased to present these new retrieves from Wooddog, developed with both function and the dog's comfort in mind.

The retrieves are made of a very light material, making them easier for the dog to lift, carry, and jump with – even for young, small, or less experienced dogs. The lightweight design contributes to a more positive and confident retrieve.

At the same time, the retrieves are equipped with extra thick side pieces, which make it easier for the dog to see the retrieve from longer distances. I am a huge fan of these retrieves myself and use them for directed retrieve in the elite class for both my dogs. They are also great for jumping, as their weight of 220g makes it easier for the dog to get a good pick-up and thus a neat jump.

The retrieve is FCI-approved, meaning it meets official standards and can therefore be used for dog sport competitions, as well as for daily training.

The retrieve is made with a middle piece of robust beech wood, while the side pieces are made of painted, waterproof plywood, ensuring both durability and resistance to moisture. The design is solid black and adorned with the characteristic WOODDOG logo on both side pieces.

When choosing the color of your retrieve, consider this!

It's worth considering the color choice when selecting a retrieve. Dogs perceive colors differently than humans – especially at a distance. Where we easily see colors like red and green, these shades will often blend with the ground for a dog. Colors like blue, black, and white, on the other hand, are easier for dogs to distinguish.

The blue WOODDOG retrieve therefore provides good contrast to the ground. A good idea, however, can be to have retrieves in at least 2 different colors, depending on the surface it will be placed on: lawn, fiber base, sand or artificial grass – your dog will "catch" the colors differently on these surfaces.
