How to use containers with magnets for Nose Work:

1. Place the scent source in the container
   – Open the silicone container and place a scent sample (e.g., a cotton swab with hydrolat) inside it.
   – Close the container securely so the scent can escape through the ventilation hole.

   
   

2. Attach the container to a surface
   – The built-in magnet allows the container to be attached to metal surfaces such as radiators, metal shelves, door frames, or even the underside of tables and chairs.
   – This provides variation in training, as you can hide the scent at different heights and locations.

3. Let the dog search
   – Release the dog in the area and give it the command to search. (NW Class 1, dogs search on leash)
   – The dog will use its sense of smell to find the container with the scent source.

   
   

4. Reward the dog upon indication
   – When the dog has found the scent and indicated it correctly (e.g., a freeze indication), reward it with treats or praise, close to the source.

5. Vary the placement
   – To make training more challenging, change the placement of the container each time and use different environments, such as at home, in the training hall, or in outdoor areas.
