LG Apport - Obedience

LG Apport - Equipment for your dog sport - Obedience retrieves

The beautiful white LG retrieves are handmade by a small family business in Sweden, where they are produced from scratch. LG Apports are made with side pieces of plywood and the bite piece of oak, which makes the bite piece less inviting to chew on, unlike soft woods.

Pay attention to the color of your retrieves, what surface should they lie on, what does your dog see best. What distance should your dog have to the retrieve,

If you want to be sure that your dog can see its retrieves from a longer distance, it is important that you choose a color that the dog can clearly see.

Blue, black, and white retrieves have become a preferred choice among dog owners who train obedience, as dogs perceive colors differently than humans. Dogs have limited color perception and primarily see shades of blue and yellow, while red and orange colors appear more subdued or grayish to them. When a dog needs to find and retrieve an object on a grassy field or another background, the color can significantly impact how easily it can distinguish the retrieve from its surroundings.

White retrieves offer an advantage because they stand out clearly to the dog, making it easier for them to focus and locate the retrieve quickly. This can improve precision and speed in exercises, which is a great benefit in both training and competitions. Additionally, it reduces the risk of confusion or uncertainty for the dog, as it can more easily see where it needs to go.

The white retrieves are popular indoors on artificial grass, where they contrast well with the surface.

The small retrieves are great for teaching retrieve to young puppies.
