LG Apport Black - Obedience Retrieve Dummy - Dog Sport.

LG Apports - Equipment for your dog sport - Obedience Apport

The beautiful black LG apports are handmade by a small family business in Sweden, where they are produced from scratch. LG apports are made with plywood side pieces and an oak bite piece, which makes the bite piece less inviting to chew on compared to softer wood types.

Pay attention to the color of your apports, what surface they will be on, and what your dog sees best. How far away should your dog be from the apport?

If you want to be sure that your dog can see its apports from a longer distance, it is important that you choose a color that the dog can clearly see.

Black apports have become a preferred choice among dog owners who train obedience, as dogs see colors differently than humans. Dogs have limited color perception and primarily see shades of blue and yellow, while red and orange colors appear more muted or grayish to them. When a dog needs to find and retrieve an object on a grassy field or another background, the color can significantly impact how easily it can distinguish the apport from its surroundings.

There are colors and shades that are difficult for dogs to see. For example, dogs have difficulty seeing colors like red and green (and their shades). Dogs can see blue and yellow very well. Colors that are close to yellow and blue in the color spectrum can also be chosen. Purple, black, and white are also good colors for apports.

The small apports are great for teaching retrieving to small puppies.
