What distinguishes FIDELIS production from other methods?

Extruded Dry Food

The most common production method for dog food is extrusion – about 90% of all dog food is produced this way. Regardless of the ingredients listed on the packaging – organic, free-range, vegan, or with insects – everything is mixed into a dough, kneaded, and pressed through a die at high pressure and high temperatures to form the familiar kibble.

Extrusion requires poorly digestible raw materials such as carbohydrate residues, starch, and animal meals. Modern methods allow a maximum of 30% fresh raw materials in the mixture – otherwise it doesn't hold together. The result is brown pellets without taste and with low nutritional content. To make them more appealing, fats and artificial vitamins are sprayed on afterwards.

The consequences of feeding extruded food can include allergies, poor digestion, strong odor from the coat, and intestinal problems, among others.
