New lightweight retrieves from Wooddog. We are happy to present these new retrieves from Wooddog, developed with both function and the dog's comfort in focus.

The retrieves are made of a very light material, making them easier for the dog to lift, carry, and jump with – even for young, small, or less experienced dogs. The light design contributes to a more positive and confident retrieving.

At the same time, the retrieves are equipped with extra thick side pieces, which makes it easier for the dog to see the retrieve at longer distances. I am a huge fan of these retrieves myself and use them for directed retrieves in the elite class for both my dogs. They are also super good for jumping with, as the weight of 220g makes it easier for the dog to get a good take-off and thus a nice jump.

The retrieve is FCI-approved, which means it meets the official standards and can therefore be used for competitions in dog sports, as well as for daily training.

The retrieve is made with a middle piece of robust beech wood, while the side pieces are made of painted, waterproof plywood, ensuring both durability and resistance to moisture. The design is solid black and adorned with the characteristic WOODDOG logo on both side pieces.

When choosing the color of your retrieve, consider!

It is worth considering the color choice when selecting a retrieve. Dogs perceive colors differently than humans – especially at a distance. Where we easily see colors like red and green, these shades will often blend with the ground for the dog. Colors like blue, black, and white, however, are easier for dogs to distinguish.

The black WOODDOG retrieve therefore provides a good contrast to the ground. A good idea, however, may be to have retrieves in at least 2 different colors, depending on the surface it will lie on: Lawn, fiber base, sand or artificial grass – your dog will "catch" the colors differently on these surfaces.
