We recommend storing your treat sausage dry and cool. After opening, they can keep for up to 4-5 days in the refrigerator. You can also cut them into smaller pieces and freeze them. I would not recommend freezing them in small cubes, as they may become a little watery after thawing due to ice crystal formation during freezing.

Production of AYKA treat sausages:
All types of meat used in AYKA treat sausages are suitable for human consumption. The meat is first deep-frozen and cut into 3 mm pieces, then into 0.5 mm thickness and mixed with tapioca* (3% - details below). The meat mixture is then filled into a sterile casing (polyamide casing) and then steamed at approx. 100-120 degrees for approx. 50-90 minutes (depending on the weight variants 80, 200, 400 and 800 g) in large autoclaves. Through this process, the meat is naturally preserved, bacteria are killed, and nutrients are retained. The meat products are particularly suitable for dogs with a sensitive digestive system.
*Tapioca is a neutral-tasting starch (tapioca starch) produced from the dried roots of the manioc plant. It is a gluten-free source of carbohydrates and is used as a natural binder that naturally holds the sausage together. Tapioca is also well-tolerated by dogs with food intolerances.
